At just 20-years-old, master concert pianist Pisarenko is the winner of the First Prize of the Franz Liszt Piano competition in Utrecht. He has since been growing a following as he tours around the world showcasing his extraordinary gift.
Lin Chin Cheng immerses the audience into the sound spectrum made by the marimba. Lin plays marimba xylophone with multiple sticks, striking chords as a pianist. Alongside his own compositions, he plays pieces by Japanese composer Toshi Ichiyanagi and Claude Debussy.
Bringing music together with current affairs and immigration, this musical journey is an emotional rollercoaster. The programme combines classical pieces with moving testimonials of migrants. For ‘La Captive’ Boho Strings counts on the crystal clear voice of soprano Raphaële Green.
A performance with purpose for a sustainable future! Led by David Ramael, Boho Strings performs a multi-faceted program of Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for strings against a backdrop of nuclear threats. Sopranos Elise Caluwaerts and Diana Gouglina alternate each movement of the serenade with stunning arias.
"Inspired by the idea of the ceremonial experience, this program offers a meditative reflection on a society undergoing profound change."
Change is a fundamental condition of human existence, both in a physical and metaphysical sense. In this artistic collaboration with video artist Geert Lenssens, Boho Strings will revisit the historical context of Richard Strauss’ Metamorphosen – the madness of the war years 1944-45, in order to connect both visually and musically with the present.
This multi-disciplinary concert experience was inspired by the remembrance moments after terrorist attacks, which bring forth a message of unity through silence and serenity, a collective voice which speaks out without words.
The trajectory of this program embodies the physical manifestation of the inward striving for enlightenment, going from the physical brutality of our existence (De Profundis), and the resulting feelings of loss (Metamorphosen), to a moment of contemplation and self-reflection (In Deep Silence) towards the security of feeling united (Martynov).
