Stijn Konings (Guitar) & Nicolas Dupont (Violin) decided to create the 'Duo Andaluza' in 2013, to explore the fascinating repertoire for this intimate and virtuoso combination of instruments and to share it with their audience trough passion and enthousiasm.
Their repertoire contains all periods and styles, reaching from Vivaldi to Piazzolla, exploring Baroque, Classical, Romantic or contemporary music, alongside traditional Spanish, Eastern-European or South-American popular music.
They have been playing concerts in France and Belgium and have made recordings for the Belgian classical radios 'Musiq3' and 'Klara'. In march 2014 they were invited at the UNESCO-headquarters in Paris as well as the Belgian Embassy. In september 2015 the Duo Andaluza recorded the 'Suite de Montsouris' by Wilfried Westerlinck, which was written for them. In February 2016 they were invited for the prestigious concert series ‘Musica et Poetica’ for which they created the programme ‘Eurotrip!’.
In Soltando Amarras the Duo Andaluza, together with composers from all over the world, challenge themselves to explore the diversity of styles and range of colours that characterise a violin- and guitarduo.
